Pitching matchup between Willie Banks and Danny Darwin. No Nolan Ryan vs Steve Carlton today. But they both went 6 before a run was put on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the 6th the Sox manufactured the first run with an RBI single by Tony Pena.
The Twins responded with 3 in the top half of the 7th with RBIs by Chili Davis and Brian Harper.
Mo Vaughan for the Sox drove one to right to score Phillip Plantier in the 7th accounted for all the scoring in the contest. No long ball today at Fenway. A 3 hour plus game was witnessed by 34,420.
The first place Twins maintained their spot at the top against the 5th place Sox.
