Washington Capitals v Philadelphia Flyers, February 28, 1995The Spectrum, Section 59 Row 4
Dave Brown couldn't wait to get into the penalty box so at the :47 mark to start the game he was assessed an interference penalty. The Capitals failed to capitalize on this gift.
Jim Montgomery scored his 1st goal of the year at the 4:47 mark to put the Flyers up 1-0.
Keith Jones tied it up late in the 1st which was followed shortly by a scuffle between 2 chippy players, Philadelphia's Rod Brind'Amour and Washington's Dale Hunter. A little over 30 seconds after both were escorted to the penalty box, Eric Desjardins scored off a feed from Eric Lindros to put the Flyers back up going into the intermission.
The 2nd was a roughing filled period with the only scoring coming from Mickal Pivonka to tie the game at 2.
The home team dominated the 3rd with goals by Shjon Podein. Eric Lindros put in an empty netter to seal the deal.
