Sitting in the seats of a friend's relative, who once played for the Capitals. So I had to be careful how loudly I cheered for the Flyers.
Nothing to cheer about in the 1st period for anyone.
The visiting Flyers scored the game's first goal at the 17:00 mark of the 2nd period off Claude Lapointe. That was it for a pretty eventless 2nd period.
Robert Lang scored for the Caps in the 3rd to tie the ball game up. The knotted score carried over to OT. In OT Peter Bondra scored the sudden death game winner just 21 seconds into the extended period.
Caps win in OT 2-1.
