Darren Langdon of the Rangers scored first with Kevin Lowe and Mark Messier getting credit for the assists. Despite the Flyers peppering New York goaltender Mike Richter with 19 shots in the 1st, John LeClair's was the only Flyer to hit the back of the net with his 21st goal of the season. Fellow Legion of Doom line mate Mikeal Reneberg assisted on the goal.
Blue Shirt Jeff Beukeboom scored what would become the game winning goal in the 2nd.
The Rangers were only able to put 3 shots on net in the 3rd.
The Rangers managed to win while putting only 15 shots on net to the Flyers 32.
17,380 were on hand.
