74 Cup Rematch

Boston Bruins v Philadelphia Flyers, December 3, 1989

The Spectrum, Sec B Row 19

Just moved from Boston back to Philadelphia. The Bruins grew on me while in Boston. The Garden particular. But this was the Flyers at the Spectrum and I have my loyalties.

It was a scoreless 1st Period but the refs had their whistles out calling every hold and high stick, much like the new NHL.

Dave Poulin took a feed from Gord Murphy at the 3:15 mark of the 2nd to put the Flyers up. The Bruins Randy Burridge scored to tie the game up with Ray Bourque and Greg Hawgood assisting on the goal. Robbie Gould scored the game winning goal for the B's in the 3rd.

The Bruins out shot the Bruins in the first with 13 shots to 3. The Flyers only managed 25 shots for the entire game. 17,423 were on hand for the home team loss.
