Philadelphia Eagles v Baltimore Ravens, November 16, 1997Memorial Stadium, Section L27, Row 13
The Ravens were only in their 2nd year in Baltimore. Already there was an atmosphere like they belonged. The NFC East showed up on their schedule so it was an opportunity to see the Eagles play on the road and only travel a few hours.
Memorial Stadium was the old place where the Baltimore Colts used to play. The Ravens used the stadium for a few years after moving from Cleveland (Browns) until their new M&T Bank Stadium was being built. An old, dark and damp stadium more suited for baseball in the middle of a neighborhood.
The Ravens scored first in the game when quarterback Vinny Testeverde connected on a 29 yard pass to Michael Jackson. That was the only scoring in the entire 1st half.
The Eagles got on the board in the 3rd with a 33 yard field goal. The Ravens Matt Stover connected for one of his own FGs in the 4th. Also in the 4th the Eagles Charlie Garner ran one in from the 2 yard line. This made the score 10-10.
After a scoreless OT periods, that is how it ended. In a rare NFL tie game.
The Eagles QB was Bobby Hoying who finished with 26 of 38 for 276 yards.
