New York Giants v Philadelphia Eagles, November 24, 1990 Veterans Stadium, Sec 725, Row 11
700 Level. The Vet. The Giants. Heaven.
Out of every NFL game I have been to, this was the perfect one. A rival. Beautiful sunny warm November day. National TV exposure. Bill Parcels and Buddy Ryan on the sidelines. The Giants were 10-0 at the time and would go on to win the Super Bowl this season. None of that mattered today.
Phil Simms connected with Mark Ingram on a 15 yard pass for the game's first points. Randall Cunningham hit Fred Barrnett on a 49 yard pass to neutralize the score. In the 2nd Cunningham took a keeper from the 1 yard line in for an Eagles 14-7 lead. Danvers High product Mark Bravo took a 4 yard pass from Simms in but the PAT failed. The home Eagles took a 14-13 lead into the half.
It was all Philadelphia in the 2nd half. A Roger Ruzak 39 yard FG, and a Calvin Williams pass reception tacked on another 10 points for the Eagles offense. Byron Evans intercepted a Phil Simms pass and ran it in the end zone for a 23 yard TD.
The Eagles won the game 31-13.
