Washington Redskins v Philadelphia Eagles, September 18, 2007Lincoln Financial Field, Sec 212 Row 14
I had a task. Bring hoagies for the tailgating crew and some beer. My ticket was taken care of.
For a Monday Night Game, an ordinary hoagie was out of the question. Being I had some West Coasters in the taligating party, I settled on a few cases of Yuengling. As for the hoagies, only from the legendary corner store accredited for inventing the hoagie would due. They pack the meat so thick, it is impossible to close.
A life long Philadelphian in the crew commented this was the best hoagie he has ever eaten in his life. I agree.
Being an Eagles fan living on the fringe of so called Redskin Country makes you hate the Redskins. The fans are not knowledgeable, unpassionate and fair weathered. Their better days were in the 80's.
A good Eagles v Redskins game is when it is deemed The Body Bag Bowl after the game.
This was not.
The Eagles are not notorious fast starters under Andy Reid. Tonite was no difference. If you are like me and happen to live on the fringe of Redskins country all you wish for is to go to an Eagles Skins game in Phila, the Eagles win, and you travel back through Skins country to get home, only to stop off and pee on a buildling in Skins Country on the way home.
That wouldn't happen this time.
It was a slow starting game with a few field goals from both the Eagles David Akers and the Redskins Shaun Suisham. Chris Cooley did connect from Jason Campell deep in the 1st half to give the visiting Redskins a 10-6 lead into the half.
The 2nd half was no more kind for the home Eagles. Clinton Portis connected for a 6 yard TD in the 4th to seal the Eagles fait.
Donavan McNabb was 29 for 46 with 240 yards in the losing cause.
The Redskins Shawn Taylor had an outstanding game. He later was killed in November of 2007.
