Chicago Bears v Philadelphia Eagles, September 12, 1994Veterans Stadium, Sec 240 Row 23
Post Buddy Ryan. The Rich Kotite era. A black period in Eagles history.
The Eagles begin a several sub 500 years, including this 7-9 season.
But this was a Monday Night game. The city always rocked for MNF. Older season ticket holders stayed away from the drunken MNF games. And that is how I scored tickets for this one.
The Eagles dominated the scoreboard 3 quarters. Randall Cunningham hooked up with the first 3 touchdowns with passes to Calvin Williams and Maurice Johnson. Birds kicker Eddie Muarry kicked a 41, 29 and 33 yard FG for the next 9 points.
Then Chicago took over, but fell short. Eric Kramer found 3 for the next 3 touchdowns, including an 85 yarder to Curtis Conway, plus a 2 point conversion.
Final score Eagles 30 Chicago 22.
Cunningham shined with a 24 for 36 effort and 311 yards passed.
