Pedro on the mound for the Sox. This night was all Boston. This is proof positive that Red Sox Nation did not travel well until they won a World Series in 2004. Only 25,143 were on hand this evening.
It's not a good night for the pitcher when he walks in a run in the top of the 1st. The visiting Sox jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first.
Nomar Garciaparra and Manny Ramirez both contributed with RBI singles later in the game to secure a 5-0 victory. The 2nd place Sox were 3 1/2 back and this win kept them in contention.
Pedro had a strong outing with 8 innings of 3 hit ball for his 12 win of the year.
