A scoreless game until the 6th. Mike Stanley and Lou Merloni both homered with men on to jump to a 4-0 lead. Boston's Damon Buford hit a grand slam in the top of the 9th to seal a 8-0 win for the visiting Red Sox.
Ramon Martinez was credited with the win in front of 48,000.
