The celebration of the NLCS champions who lost in 6 to Toronto in the 93 World Series. A few thousand less than the last 2 opening day crowds at The Vet. Still an impressive 58,000 plus at the gate.
The Rockies took an early 1st inning lead when Andres Galarraga doubled in cather Joe Girardi, who reached on an error. The home team responded with timely hitting and a few doubles from John Kruk, Dave Hollins and a single from Jim Eisenreich. The Phils jumped to an early 3-1 lead.
Both Darren Daulton for the Phils and Colorado's Dante Bichette homered in the contest. The Rockies brought in ole Bruce "Two Minutes for" Ruffin in the bottom of the 6th, long enough to get the Rockies win and extend the Phils season opening losing streak to 4 games with a Colorado 8-7 win.
